Research and Development

Besides our persistent efforts to optimize our established products, we invest more then 20% of our annual sales volume into the development of new biological pest control solutions.

Since 2002 we are cooperating in a research projekt, led by the Institute of Technology and Biosystems Engineering - Division Technology - Federal Agricultural Research Centre (FAL) Braunschweig, with the Institute of Nematology and Vertebrate Research (BBA) Münster, and the KWS Saat AG, Einbeck.

This project is supported by the Agency of Renewable Resources (Fachagentur Nachwachsende Rohstoffe e.V.).

The objective of the research project is the breeding and microencapsulation of biological antagonists for biological pest control. The main objektive of BIOCARE is the implementation of the research-results into marketable products.

In particular we are producing bacteria of the generic group Pseudomonas which is used to prevent fungal disease caused by Pythium and Aphanomyces as well as the fungus Hirsutella rhossiliensis in our laboratory for this research projekt.

The applied technique of microencapsulation in this research projekt appears to be promising for the use with other biological antagonists. BIOCARE is open to cooperations in this area.

We published our first results in the following papers:
